Hoy vamos a recordar la visita que realizó el crucero Coral a Sevilla, como barco fletado para la feria de Sevilla por HALCON VIAJES.

Hace ya algunos años, antes de que este blog iniciara su andadura, exactamente el 20/04/2010 hizo su primera y última escala el crucero Coral. Este crucero perteneciente a la naviera chipriota Louis Cruises Lines, llegó a Sevilla procedente de Barcelona como un crucero especial, fletado por la agencia española HALCON VIAJES con ocasión de la feria de Abril de ese año.

Podemos decir, que este barco es uno de los más marineros, elegantes y clásicos que han llegado hasta la fecha al Muelle de las Delicias, y también un barco con una larga vida.

Un poco de “historia”: El crucero Coral, llamado así actualmente por la naviera chipriota, en un principio fue construido para la importantísima naviera Cunard Line en los astilleros De Rotterdamsche Droogdok (Rótterdam) en el año 1971, esta naviera operó el buque durante unos 6 años aproximadamente (1971-1977), durante este tiempo el barco se llamó “Cunard Adventurer”. Posteriormente fue vendido en 1977 a la naviera Norwegian Cruises Line, está lo renombró como “Sunward II” y estuvo operando para NCL durante unos 14 años (1977-1991), después NCL lo vendió a Epirotiki Line (1991-1995) que lo renombró nuevamente como “Triton”, de nuevo pasó a las manos de otra naviera, esta es Royal Olympic Cruises (1995-2004) la cual mantuvo el nombre de “Triton”. Y finalmente en el año 2004 fue adquirido por Louis Cruises Line la que lo llamó finalmente “Coral”, hasta día de hoy, pero está previsto que para el año 2014 este barco sea renombrado como “Louis Rhea”. Hemos podido ver, que de la misma manera que han ido pasando los años por este hermoso barco, también lo han hecho los nombres y navieras que lo han estado operando.

Técnicamente podemos decir que el MV Coral, con capacidad para unos 832 pasajeros está clasificado como un “small ship” o barco pequeño, dada sus reducidas dimensiones, 149 metros de eslora por 22 metros de manga y 6.1 metros de calado. Tiene 8 cubiertas para pasajeros, en las que no le falta ninguna de las distracciones típicas de un barco de cruceros, como pueden ser (piscina, casino, biblioteca, restaurantes, gimnasio…). Y está propulsado por cuatro motores diésel de 12 cilindros. Actualmente la naviera Louis Cruises Line lo tiene reservado para realizar cruceros chárter por el Mediterráneo oriental, así que dudo que lo volvamos a ver pronto por Sevilla.

Pero gracias a la aportación fotográfica de nuestro ya habitual colaborador, Mario (MFA), os podemos mostrar unas maravillosas imágenes de este barco por el río Guadalquivir y en el Muelle de las Delicias. Some years ago, before this blog began its journey, 20/04/2010 exactly made his first and last stop Coral cruise. It has 8 passenger decks, which lacks any of the typical distractions of a cruise ship, such as (swimming pool, casino, library, restaurants, gym ...). And it's powered by four 12-cylinder diesel engines. Currently the shipping company Louis Cruises Line has it reserved for charter cruises the eastern Mediterranean, so I doubt see him again soon in Seville.

Después de varios años de retraso, por fin, va tomando forma el futuro acuario de Sevilla, situado en el Muelle de las Delicias.

Hoy os voy a hablar del futuro acuario que se está construyendo en el Muelle de las Delicias, y el cual aparece en muchas de las fotos de este blog.

Después de varios años de retraso, y cuando inicialmente estaba previsto que se terminasen las obras en la primavera del pasado año 2012. Hoy me complace poder informarles, de que las obras se han retomado y van a un ritmo de ejecución aceptable. Así que esperemos que sigan yendo así de bien y podamos disfrutar pronto de este magnífico espacio.

El proyecto del acuario de Sevilla, es el de un edificio único en la ciudad. Con un presupuesto de ejecución de 11 millones de euros aproximadamente. Será un edificio bioclimático, en el que se utilizará materiales naturales para su construcción. También tendrá una planta de tratamiento del agua, esta permitirá la regeneración de los ecosistemas de forma natural, aprovechando también esta agua para regar los jardines exteriores del acuario.

El acuario estará concebido como una gran exposición la cual unirá los espacios naturales del río Guadalquivir y Sudamérica, tomando como referencia el importante echo del descubrimiento de América. Por tanto, contará con tres ecosistemas diferentes, estos será: el rió Guadalquivir con sus marismas hasta la desembocadura en Sanlúcar de Barrameda; el océano Atlántico y la zona del Caribe a la que llegaron los primeros descubridores de América. Según hemos podido saber, en el acuario no habrá solo peces, sino que también encontraremos en los tres ecosistemas: pequeños mamíferos, anfibios y aves.

Además de las tres explosiones permanentes que albergará, veremos otras temporales; se celebrarán actividades didácticas y visitas para escolares, así como visitas guiadas. Igualmente, habrá tienda de recuerdos, cafetería y un auditorio con capacidad para 250 personas. Y se espera que cuando esté culminada esta obra se creen unos 55 puestos de trabajo, y se reciban unas 600.000 visitas anuales.

¡Última hora!

P and O cruises vendrá a Sevilla en 2014

P and O cruises will come to Seville in 2014

Primicia, la naviera P and O cruises perteneciente al grupo Carnival Corporation and PLC, traerá por primera vez a Sevilla en 2014, el buque de crucero Adonia, y realizará nada menos que 3 escalas a lo largo del año.

Scoop, the shipping company P and O Cruises belongs to the Carnival Corporation and PLC group, will bring for the first time in Seville in 2014, the cruise ship Adonia, and carry no less than 3 scales throughout the year.

Cómo ya viene siendo habitual, cada vez son más las navieras interesadas en realizar escalas en el Muelle de las Delicias. Y me alegra poder informarles, de que esta vez, se trata de la importante compañía de cruceros inglesa P and O cruises perteneciente al grupo Carnival Corporation and PLC. Que aunque tiene grandes buques y todavía no está realizado el dragado del río Guadalquivir, el cual podrá facilitar la llegada de estos cruceros, que actualmente hacen escala en el puerto de Cádiz y realizan excursiones a Sevilla, la naviera P and O ha optado por traer directamente a Sevilla hasta en tres ocasiones su buque de cruceros exclusivos Adonia.

El Adonia es un barco de cruceros perteneciente a la clase RENAISSANCE SERIES, es uno de los ocho que se construyeron para la naviera Renaissance Cruises, esta naviera hoy en día extinta dejó unos magníficos barcos que fueron comprados por otra compañías del sector. Estos barcos empezaron a construirse en el año 1996, en los astilleros de STX France, y poseen 351 camarotes. Técnicamente se puede decir que son barcos de pequeño tamaño, pero a los que no les falta ningún detalle, con unas dimensiones de 181 metros de eslora por 25,46 metros de manga y 5,7 metros de calado. Alcanzan una velocidad de 20 nudos y son barcos muy maniobrables, este en especial fue construido en el año 2001. Y es uno de los hermanos gemelos del famoso Azamara Quest y Azamara Journey, estos dos muy conocidos por los ciudadanos de Sevilla.

Una vez presentada la naviera y el barco que traerán a la ciudad hispalense, vamos a centrarnos en los viajes que realizará a lo largo del próximo año. Todos los cruceros tendrán como puerto de embarque y desembarque Southampton (Reino Unido). Detalles de cada crucero y fechas:

El primer crucero zarpará el día 5 de Mayo de 2014 y tendrán una duración de 16 noches, en esos días hará escala en 8 puertos de 4 países (Francia, España, Portugal y Marruecos) y en Sevilla estará los días 13 y 14 de Mayo.
El segundo crucero zarpará el día 24 de Agosto de 2014 y tendrá una duración de 12 noches, en esos días hará escala en 6 puertos de 3 países (Portugal, España y Marruecos) y en Sevilla estará los días 29 y 30 de Agosto.
El tercer crucero zarpará el día 23 de Noviembre de 2014 y tendrá una duración de 18 noches, en esos días hará escala en 8 puertos de 3 países (España, Portugal y Marruecos) y en Sevilla estará el día 28 de Noviembre.

Desde Cruceros en Sevilla esperamos que cada vez sean más las navieras que se den cuenta de las ventajas que tiene hacer escala directamente en Sevilla, la cual tiene varios monumentos declarados patrimonio de la humanidad por las UNESCO y posee el casco histórico más grande de Europa.

Gracias a la aportación fotográfica de Mario Fontán, un gran aficionado y amante de los barcos, os puedo hoy mostrar estas magnificas fotografías del buque Quest for Adventure, navegando por el Guadalquivir a su paso por la localidad sevillana de Coria del Río el pasado día 04/05/2013. El crucero Quest for Adventure que lo vemos pasando por este pueblo de la ribera del Guadalquivir, sobre las siete de la tarde, acaba de iniciar un crucero que lo llevará desde Sevilla a las costas del océano Atlántico, este viaje hizo su primera escala en Portimao, sur de Portugal. Y con destino final el puerto de Portland en el Reino Unido. Espero que os gusten estas fotografías.

Esta noche sobre las 02:00 de la madrugada entró este crucero procedente de Gibraltar, lo podremos ver hasta mañana día 4 de mayo cuando zarpe a las 17:00 con destino Portimao. A continuación unas fotos de este bello barco.
